The University of South Wales has this week, 12th January, announced a partnership with Wales’s netball team, the Celtic Dragons.
The sponsorship agreement makes the University Welsh Netball’s flagship sponsor for the 2014 season.
The partnership was announced, along with the team, at an event in Cardiff yesterday.
Alun Davies, Director of Sport, Health and Wellbeing at the University of South Wales, said: “The University is delighted to be entering this new partnership with the Celtic Dragons and sponsoring the team for their next season. We hope through that our work with Welsh Netball, more women will realise their sporting potential and play competitively.”
Melissa Hyndman, Head Coach for the Celtic Dragons, added: “We are thrilled that the University of South Wales has come on board for the 2014 season after making history in 2013, by reaching grand final for UK Netball Superleague. Netball is finally the leading women’s sport In Wales and to have a new forward thinking Higher Education Institution supporting the Celtic Dragons is very exciting for our future.”
