The Celtic Dragons will be competing in the first event of the season this weekend (November 29th) at the Thunderdome in Manchester.
The Dragons will play against Scotland as well as the Superleague’s Loughborough Lightening, Team Northumbria, Yorkshire Jets and home side Manchester Thunder in The Mike Greenwood Trophy Tournament.
The tournament which is in its in third year, was named in honour of former Manchester Thunder coach, Mike Greenwood, who sadly passed away in 2011. The tournament is said to honour his contribution to netball and continue his legacy.
With some fresh young legs added to the squad, as well as the inclusion of the more experienced players the Celtic Dragons squad are looking forward to some court time together. The tournament is a key part in the lead up to the 2015 Superleague preparation which commences in January. It is also the first appearance for the Celtic Dragons Head of Elite Performance, Trish Wilcox. Trish, who is Swansea born, has recently worked for Netball New Zealand and Auckland Netball and is "really excited for what is in store".
