Nia Jones, Lefébre Rademan, and Kat Short will not be playing for Celtic Dragons in the 2023 Vitality Netball Superleague Season.
Nia is exploring other netball opportunities for the 2023 season. We would like to thank Nia for her contributions on and off the court with Celtic Dragons last year, including her captaincy role. We wish her the very best in her new netball adventures.
Lefébre will be taking time out in South Africa after the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Lefébre was recommitted to the club, however after sustaining an injury at the Commonwealth games she will not be competing in the 2023 VNSL Season. Lefébre said this about her time at Dragons,
“Sadly, after sustaining an ACL injury in the final game at Birmingham Commonwealth Games, this means I will be unable to return to Dragons for the VNSL season as previously planned.
I had a fantastic 2022 season with Dannii and the girls and was really excited to return in 2023 to build even more after the progress we had made. Even though I’m sad not to be returning, I know the girls are in good hands and I will be supporting them from South Africa whilst I work hard on my rehab and getting back on court.
I just want to say a huge thank you to the Dragons fans for embracing me and making me feel part of the family, it was an honour to play in front of you all and hopefully I will see you soon.
Lefébre x”
Lefébre will remain part of the wider Dragons group. Everyone at Dragons wishes Lefébre the best of luck with her rehab and hope it isn’t long before we see you on court again!
We are excited to say that Kat is pursuing her career as a medical doctor after graduating from university last year. Kat is working as a Foundation Year 1 Doctor in critical/intensive care and has moved back to the South-East of England to be closer to her family. #
We would like to thank Nia, Lefébre, and Kat for their contributions to Dragons this season. We wish you all the best of luck in the next chapter of your journeys!
We are excited to announce our 2023 Celtic Dragons Squad early September. Keep your eyes on our socials and get behind the team in green!
