Jill McIntosh returns as Head Coach of the newly rebranded Cardiff Dragons for the 2024 season. McIntosh joined us at the end of last season, and guided Dragons to only their second victory of the season.

Jill is a former Australian Diamonds player, Captain, and Coach, who was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2020 for her contribution to netball.

McIntosh held the Head Coach role with the Australian Diamonds from 1995 to 2003, leading them to two gold medals at the Kuala Lumpur 1998 Commonwealth Games and the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games, and two World Championships in 1995 and 1999. McIntosh led several unbeaten campaigns with the Diamonds, racking up a 94%-win ratio.

McIntosh has worked with a number of different teams since coaching Australia, including Central Pulse in the ANZ from 2007-2008; Singapore from 2009-2011; and Jamaica where she worked as Technical Director and Head Coach at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the 2015 World Cup in Sydney.

About the season ahead, Head Coach McIntosh said “I am thrilled to be returning to the Head Coach position with the Cardiff Dragons for the 2024 NSL season. Having had a small stint with the Dragons in the 2023 NSL season I look forward to working with the returning athletes as well as some new and exciting athletes who will join the Cardiff Dragons franchise for the upcoming season. The 2024 NSL season will hopefully see the Cardiff Dragons as a very competitive outfit who will do very well.”

We are excited to have Jill McIntosh back at Dragons for a full year for the 2024 Netball Super League season, and are excited to see what are Dragons can achieve!
