On Wednesday, 21 December the Netball Superleague team the Celtic Dragons will commence their preseason tour across the country to visit their Green Army fan base.  The first stop will be at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, Neath, where a dedicated Green Army Fan Zone will be held.

In partnership with the NPTC Group of Colleges, fans will take part in an exclusive skills and drills session with the netball super stars, followed by an opportunity for fans to get their autographs and pictures taken with the Dragons players.

“This tour is a brilliant opportunity for the Dragons to meet their fans ahead of the new Superleague season,” says Celtic Dragons Head Coach Trish Wilcox.

“The Green Army fan base is so important to our athletes, and their wonderful support throughout the season is appreciated by all of us.

In the new year, the Green Army Fan Zone will also visit Cwmbran, Deeside, and Ebbw Vale.  Dragons Head Coach says there’s lots of festive fun to be had on their first stop in Llandarcy:

“We are grateful to the NPTC Group for hosting our Green Army Fan Zone.

“This is a great time of year for the players to interact and have some fun with their supporters before Christmas on their first stop in Llandarcy.”

The Celtic Dragons have been in preseason training since early October 2016, and their preparations will continue until the Superleague kicks off in February 2017.  Nine home fixtures have been announced and tickets released at the Dragons home at the Sport Wales Centre in Cardiff.  Squad captain Suzy Drane says they are excited to welcome back their loyal fans to their matches:

“I really cannot wait to see and hear all our amazing supporters again this season,” says Suzy, who is participating in her 12th season with the Celtic Dragons franchise

“We are working really hard as always to bring our best performance yet!”

The Llandarcy Fan Zone is free of charge and the skills stations are suitable for fans between the ages of eight and fifteen.  The session will start at 4.30pm and finish at 6pm.  A shop will also be set up within the Fan Zone, with Celtic Dragons merchandise available to purchase.
