Celtic Dragons Stands with Sport Against Online Abuse, Harassment and Hate

admin

Celtic Dragons will be standing alongside fellow Vitality Netball Superleague teams and the wider sporting community in taking part in a social media boycott from 15:00 on Friday 30 April to 23:59 on Monday 3 May.

The social media boycott is in response to the ongoing and sustained discriminatory online abuse targeted at professional athletes and others in sport, which will not be tolerated nor accepted in any part of our game. We expect our platforms and those of the Netball Family to be free from hate, abuse, racism or any kind of harassment.

As part of the boycott, the ususal streaming of Celtic Dragons matches on YouTube has been suspended by Sky Sports. However, fans will be able to watch every game from this weekend’s Superleague double-header live and free on the Sky Sports website.

Click here to watch this weekend’s games live directly via the Sky Sports website.

Celtic Dragons will take on Surrey Storm at 5.15pm tomorrow (Friday 30 April) and Saracens Mavericks at 6.30pm on Saturday (1 May.) Please note, the first centre pass time of the Saracens Mavericks game has been amended to 6.30pm from an originally advertised time of 6pm.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and hope that the entire sporting community will get behind the blackout and send a message that abuse, hate, racism, sexism and harassment will not be tolerated on our social media platforms.
