Celtic Dragons started their 2018 by revealing their brand new 2018 Player Layer dress at Deeside Leisure Centre on Saturday 27 January.
Ahead of the pre-season warm up match against Manchester Thunder, Celtic Dragons unveiled their new dress in front of fans in North Wales. The dress, green for home matches and grey for trips away, features recognisable dragon wings and a fierce dragon claw at the front. It was great to see so many fans coming to meet the players and the team received a very warm welcome.
Sarah Palmer, Celtic Dragons Operations Lead was thrilled by the local response. She said: “We always love taking the Dragons up to Deeside. There was a great turnout for the dress reveal and fanzone and we sold out our tickets for the match. We know the players love having an opportunity to come here and interact with the fans – especially players like Suzy, Nia and Fern who began their careers in North Wales.”
The match itself featured 6 10-minute periods of play where Celtic Dragons were able to experiment with a range of combinations. Ultimately, Thunder prevailed 63-36 but the match proved to be a good run out for Dragons players following a challenging World Cup Qualifier weekend.
Celtic Dragons now prepare for the start of the Vitality Netball Superleague season, at home against BenecosMavericks on Monday 12 February. Tickets are available for the match from www.ticketline.co.uk
