It’s November and the Vitality Netball Superleague is now looming on the horizon as the year draws to the close. As the days countdown, the Celtic Dragons squad for 2019 has nearly been fully revealed, with a further three players announced this week.
Re-signing for another year with the Green Army is Nia Jones. The versatile defender is one of the most recognisable personalities in the game, with a gritty playing style to match. Voted fans Player of the Season last year, Nia’s ability to lead from the front and inject tempo and dynamism into the defensive end will be a huge asset in the coming matches.
Joining Nia will be a pair of new names for Celtic Dragons fans – the two Lucys!
Fellow defender, Lucy Howells originally comes from Pembrokeshire and recently broke through into the Wales senior long squad. Meanwhile, Lucy Herdman joins as a shooter, having played for Severn Stars Under 21s. Both players will add bundles of energy and new insight into the new-look squad this season.
