Celtic Dragons is pleased to share the news that defender Annie O’Rourke will be returning to Celtic Dragons for the 2021 season.
O’Rourke was elevated to a Superleague squad for the first time last season as she joined the franchise ahead of the 2020 season. Prior to arriving at Celtic Dragons, O’Rourke was part of the Team Bath age group pathway where she captained the Under 19s squad for the 2019 season. O’Rourke’s move over the border to Cardiff coincides with her studies at Cardiff University.
O’Rourke is keen to make the most of the coming year. She said: “I am so excited to be part of the Celtic Dragons family. After having last season cut short, I am looking forward to getting back on the court and seeing what we achieve in 2021!”
Director of Netball, Tania Hoffman, was pleased to see O’Rourke return for a second season. She said: “I’m really happy to have Annie back in the team for 2021. Last season was a wonderful opportunity for Annie to step up to Superleague netball and the pandemic meant much of that opportunity was lost.
“Now she is back with us, there is a new chance for Annie to showcase her talent in the squad. She will be working alongside some truly talented defenders and the new season will present her with some fantastic chances to take her game to the next level. I can’t wait to see her in action!”
